The South Mountain Heritage Society (SMHS) Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4 Mile Run provides participants the unique opportunity to run through historic Burkittsville, Union Cemetery, Boordy’s South Mountain Vineyard and the Distillery Lane Ciderworks Orchard via a mix of paved and cross-country type surfaces. Visit the participating wineries/cideries/eateries on the Spook Hill Wine Trail post-run! Come for the run, stay for the wine!

Overland Timing will be bib-chip timing the 2019 run. Overall awards will be calculated via “gun” time.
Accolades: Spook Hill was named by Competitor.com in 2014 as a “Must Do” fall race in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The race has been featured by Runner’s World Magazine in 2015 and 2018! Spook Hill is also a Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club "Grand Prix Series" event.

Boordy Vineyards be set up in Burkittsville near the Ruritan on race morning, also offering tastings and sales beginning around 9:45 a.m.
10:30 other venues on the Spook Hill Wine Tasting Trail open.
11:00 The Little Red Barn Ice Cream Cafe, just off of Rte 340 in Jefferson (show them your bib on race morning for a free kid’s size soft serve!) opens. This is a great place to grab lunch!
Each participant will receive a commemorative wine glass. Run finishers will receive a unique, wine-themed finisher’s medal. Cotton and Technical Tee-shirts can be ordered for a nominal fee during the registration process until 9/30/2019.
