Come experience what has become one of Steamboat Spring’s greatest Thanksgiving traditions. This race/fun run/walk hosted over 400 participants in 2017 and proved to be such a special day for friends, families and visitors to Steamboat Springs. The Turkey Trot is a 5k that starts and ends at Steamboat Springs High School, in the newly renovated Gardner Field Stadium. The 5K travels to beautiful Strawberry Park and benefits the Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs. Dress in your cold weather running gear or even a Thanksgiving Day costume.
Donations: Non-perishable food donations will be accepted on site for Lift Up Food Bank!
When: Thursday, November 22nd, 2018, starting at 9:30am with Opening Ceremony. "Day of" registration from 8:15-9:00am.
Who: Runners, walkers, competitive adaptive, strollers, burly trailers, and leashed dogs on race course (No dogs are permitted in the Gardner Field stadium!). The is an out and back course, so distances may be shortened for any children and/or athletes with special considerations. Wheelchair access to all facilities involved in the race.
Pre-Registration – Online registration will close at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 20th. You can also register at Twisted Trails on Lincoln Avenue between 6th and 7th Street on Wednesday, November 21st from 3:00-5:00pm. Day of Registration will be available from 8:15-9:00am at Gardner Field Stadium, at race headquarters.
The first 250 Youth and Adults who register online will receive an embroidered Steamboat Springs winter sport headband. Register early to receive.

Packet Pick-up / New this year – Twisted Trails on Lincoln between 6th & 7th on Wednesday, November 21st, from 3-5pm. Race Day packet pick up from 8:15-9:00am at check in tent. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packets at Twisted Trails on Wednesday to avoid long lines on race day.
Prizes – 1st-5th place for adult male and female; 1st-5th for youth male and female; medals for all youth age 10 and under; plus best overall costume award.
Parking – Parking will be available in the main parking lot of the Steamboat Springs High School (west of Gardner Stadium). Parking attendants will be on site.
