About the event
We’re excited to announce that Willamette University will be hosting the 9th Annual Stride Toward Freedom 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 9 a.m. (registration is at 8 a.m.). This event is part of Willamette’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. week-long celebration, and will be held at Willamette’s Brown Field.
Event proceeds will benefit the Salem Multicultural Institute. Throughout the year, SMI provides fun and educational events and outreach that promote harmony and understanding of cultural diversity in our community. SMI is best known for the annual World Beat Festival – always held the last weekend in June.
