A new Tulsa Tradition – annual spring half marathon plus 5k that starts and finishes in downtown Tulsa. The half marathon includes several miles along the banks of the beautiful Arkansas River.
Each year the finisher medal for the T-Town Half will feature iconic downtown Tulsa architecture. The first medal for the 2018 event was the top of the 1930’s era Blue Dome building. The 2019 medal featured the top of the iconic art deco Philtower Building and the 2020 Medal featured the Boston Avenue Methodist Church. The 2021 Medal will feature Mid-Continent Tower.
There is no other structure in the world quite like Tulsa’s Mid-Continent Tower. This marvel of modern engineering stands as a memorial to Tulsa’s oil boom of the 1980s. What appears to be one tower actually consists of two entirely separate buildings—the original 15-story Neo-Gothic Cosden Building built in 1918 and a matching 36 story addition raised in 1984.
The 5k is completely contested on downtown Tulsa streets, while the half marathon will be a mix of downtown streets and paved Riverparks Trail.
All entrants will receive a tech shirt as well as a great finisher medal that features the Mid-Continent Tower. Post race food and beer for those 21 and over will also be available.
