Tapping of the Great Pumpkin 8k, 5k, 1 mile walk and kids fun run

The 7th Annual Tapping of the Great Pumpkin 8k, 5k, Lil' Pumpkin Run & 1 Mile Walk is on October 20, 2018 Scoogie Events,  The Shoppes at English Village, & Ironhill Brewery & Restaurant & would like to cordially invite you and to join us for a delightful afternoon and evening of three festive runs and a walk followed by "The 7th Annual The Tapping of the Great Pumpkin" presented by Scoogie Events.  This is one of our MOST POPULAR events of the year and WILL SELL OUT by EARLY OCTOBER so please register early!

ENTRY FEES: See fees section BELOW for breakdown. Please note that parents can join the Kids Fun Run without registration, but must register with children to join in 1 Mile Walk.

Everyone registered for the events will get yummy appetizers straight from the fantastic Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar!! And also some great pizza from Jules Thin Crust Pizza and pizza & tomato pies from Tony Roni's in Spring House! 

Choose to run your event in a costume and you will automatically be entered in the "Best Costume Contest" or feel free to run in your normal running attire! : )

Events consist of a wheel measured fast 8k, 5k, a 1/2 mile Kid's Fun Run and a 1 mile walk :-)

The race will be chip timed with the chip being embedded in your special Tapping of the Great Pumpkin special edition race bib and your time will start when you cross over the starting line mats...so no need to rush through the start line:-)

Scoogie Events is proud to announce that we are now teaming up and partnering with The Wissahickon Valley Water Shed Association  & Ainsley's Angels which means that a portion of the proceeds from this event will not only go to helping keep our local water ways CLEAN, but they will also help ensure that EVERYONE can experience endurance events even while in a wheelchair! :-)

In addition to the delicious food from Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar!! And also some great pizza from Jules Thin Crust Pizza and pizza & tomato pies from Tony Roni's in Spring House, there will be crafts and activities for the whole family.

This event is a not to be missed event that will sell out. We will limit the number of registered athletes to ensure safety for everyone involved. We anticipate a sell out in EARLY OCTOBER this year!
A FREE freshly brewed beer from the good folks at Ironhill Brewery & restaurant (MUST be 21+ years old), free DELICIOUS appetizers from Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, Jules Thin Crust Pizza and Tony Roni's and entrance into the Tapping of the Great Pumpkin Festival! 
Once again...runners and walkers are encouraged to wear a costume- BUT by no means are you obligated. Plenty of runners and walkers will dress up and plenty will be wearing their normal running gear as well.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Flat and fast 5k & 8k (Although the 8k has one short hill just after the turn around) ALL THREE runs & WALK start and finish at Iron Hill Brewery in the Shoppes at English Village!
The 8k & 5k travel through English Village apartments onto Squire Lane out to Cedar Hill Road onto Biwood and back. The 8k continues onto the beautiful Horsham Power Line Trail!
This is a beautiful run that is very fast and flat, with paved streets and gentle rolling hills; a great course! Held rain or shine. Please no bikes, roller blades, or skateboards allowed on course. 

NOTE: We do not issue any refunds, transfers or credits for any reason. We have the right to revise or cancel the race due to emergency or weather issue....(but we really hope this doesn't happen:-)

AWARDS: "You ask for it.....we deliver": From now on, ALL Scoogie events age group awards will be in FIVE YEAR age increments!! Awards given for 8K & 5k only, Kids Run is for FUN! Overall winner (male and female), plus top three males and females in each age category: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. No mailing of awards or shirts.

Packet Pick up will be at North Wales Running Company on Friday, October 19th from 5-7. NWRC.

If you cannot attend PPU at NWRC on Friday, you can pick up you packet on Saturday at the race start (Ironhill Brewery in North Wales) starting at 1:30 and lasting until 2:30. You CAN pick up your friends packets:-)

***VERY IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO PARKING AT THE SHOPPES AT ENGLISH VILLAGE. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO "PLEASE" PARK ON SQUIRE DRIVE AND ONLY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN ENTERING QUIRE DRIVE FROM LOWER STATE ROAD!!! THE LEFT SIDE NEEDS TO BE LEFT OPEN FORTHE RUNNERS!!! SQUIRE DRIVE IS ABOUT 1/2 MILE FROM THE START.***PLEASE SEE MAP ON THIS PAGE!!***

Note: If you are registered for this race and you registered in time to choose a t shirt/1/4 zip size BUT you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will NEED TO CONTACT us BEFORE RACE DAY and let us know if you'd like us to hold on to your reserved giveaway (t shirt or 1/4 zip) for you to pick up at a future Scoogie Event. If you do not do this, we cannot hold you shirt and it will be given to someone that registered after the deadline. We cannot mail shirts.
