About the event
A dedicated law enforcement official, Chief Louis A. Dirker, Jr., devoted over 40 years of
his life to serving and protecting the citizens of the Stow & Cuyahoga Falls communities.
After valiantly battling lymphoma for nearly 7 years, Chief Dirker was taken from
us on February 6, 2016. His wife and children respectfully request your support in raising
awareness and donations in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by supporting
the 2nd Annual Louis A. Dirker, Jr. Memorial 5K on August 19, 2017.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency
dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, Hodgkin's & Non-
Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their
families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free
information and support services.
