About the event
The Freedom 5k is a Charlottesville local road race that welcomes runners of all ages, walkers, leashed dogs and baby joggers. The mission of The Freedom 5k is to support the Freedom Fund, a non-profit organization created to express the greater Charlottesville community’s gratitude and appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our local military (active, retired and veteran) and our sworn law enforcement personnel. The Freedom 5K is conveniently located 8 miles from Downtown Charlottesville, 3 miles off Interstate 64 (Exit 124-Shadwell), and offers plenty of free parking at the start/finish site.
