About the event
How far will you go to run a mile??? Whether you are new to running or an experienced runner, come challenge yourself with a mile long race. You can either join the competitive race or the family fun run/walk. All entry fees will go back to school athletic programs based on the percentage of their students participation in any event!!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2ND ANNUAL OBERLIN MILE
1. The standing men's course record... waiting to be broken... is 5:58.7
2. The standing women's course record... waiting to be broken... is 6:03.9
3. Award $$: Kids participating will win money awards for their schools!
The more students run, walk, or volunteer, the more money they win for their school! Net proceeds totaled $3000 in 2014. Our 2015 goal is $6000 in prize money. Awards are calculated on percentage of students participating from their school. Example: If a school is represented at The Oberlin Mile with 15% of the K-12 age participants in the event, running, walking or volunteering (and are registered) then 15% of the net proceeds will be awarded to that school for Physical Education and Athletic Programs.
