The Ohio Valley Bank 5k Ruck Walk

The Ohio Valley Bank is proud to sponsor this 5K Run/ Ruck Walk on July 6th, 2019 in support of all of our local veterans and those in the surrounding areas. All of the proceeds will be split, half will go to the PTSD Clinic at the Chillicothe VA and the other half will go to the Huntington VA PTSD Clinic.

The walk will start and end at the Haskins Park Veterans Memorial on Mill Creek Road in Gallipolis OH.  Participants can park in the parking lot beside the memorial and the route for the walk will be down and back on the bike path. Extra parking will be in the parking lot on Ohio Ave. beside the City Pool.

We would like to invite everyone to bring a backpack with at least a bottle of water, a pair of shoes and a change of clothes, just so the pack is not empty. Of course, you are welcome to always put more weight in it if you would like to do so. In the military your pack could weigh anything up to about 110 pounds. While a pack is not required to enter the race, it is encouraged so that every participant will be able to understand what it is like to hike with just a little bit of weight on your back.

Check-In will begin at 8 a.m. and the group will step-off promptly at 9 a.m. 

This walk is NOT a timed event or a competition.  We do expect it take between 60 and 90 minutes. The walk will be conducted just like a ruck in the military. Every participant will start and complete the walk at the same time in a group. 

Every participant who pre-registers will be given a T-shirt as a thank you for your support. On race day shirts will be available to buy for anyone who does not wish to participate in the walk. We will also have water provided at the end of the walk.
