We’re back for year three! Come join us in this family friendly event for all ages. Participants can either walk or run the one-mile route along Fairfax Boulevard. Kids 8 and under run for free! Participants will be running along Fairfax Blvd in downtown Ranson. Whether you want to run your fastest mile, or bring your whole family out for a fun run/walk, this event is for everyone. We’ll be celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year at Two Rivers Treads, so the theme of the Ranson Mile will be “Birthday Party”! That means you can expect cake, piñatas, costumes and birthday hats. For all those that register by April 1st, you will get a chance to spin the wheel for prizes and take a swing at our piñata! So, join us in celebrating health in our community on May 9th!
Proceeds from this event will be donated to Bigger Than The Trail. BTTT is a 501©(3) tax exempt organization that is using trail running as a platform to advocate for mental health. Their mission is to enrich the lives of individuals struggling with mental health.
They achieve this mission by coming alongside individuals and providing educational support and treatment options. Their mission is not limited just to those who run, it is much bigger than that. Running is not the focus; but rather the people they can impact. The focus is to bring light to the real struggles and challenges that are associated with mental health.
Mental health is something we can all advocate for using many different platforms. So please don’t think you need to be a trail runner to help advocate. Instead, partner with them using your own passions as a platform to make their mission part of your life.
