Tophet Chasm Trail Race

The 5K trail race starts and finishes at the Oak Hill Road entrance near the Main Kiosk. The first 3/4 mile is a 220 vertical foot climb along the Red Trail to Look Out Rock where it picks up the Boundary Loop Trail (Yellow Trail). It stays on the Yellow Trail until it comes back out onto the Red Trail near the finish. The course runs along the west and east sides of Tophet Chasm and features side hill trails with very steep 80 ft + drop offs. Medical personnel will be stationed in these sections in case of accidents.

The first loop of the 10K race follows the 5K course but near the 5K finish it crosses the Red Trail and follows the Yellow Trail back up to Look Out Rock. At the top it picks up the Blue Trail going clockwise onto the Orange Trail and follows the bottom of Tophet Chasm before looping around back along the top of the Chasm. It then picks up the Red Trail back to Oak Hill Road and the finish line.
