The Tour de Lewis: Oswegatchie to Osceola 

Ride Overview: The Tour de Lewis O to O - is a ride through Lewis County’s scenic Black River Valley, starting in the Adirondack Park at The Oswegatchie Education Center (which overlooks Long Pond), and finishing in the green State Forests at The Osceola Ski & Sport Center on the Tug Hill Plateau.

The Metric Century: Our main route will take you through 62 miles of farms, forests, and hamlets -crossing our county from corner to corner. The ride will start at 10 am at the Oswegatchie Educational Center, 9340 Long Pond Road Croghan, NY 13327. Four rest and aid station stops are provided along the way. All riders will need to get dropped off at the start or purchase a shuttle from the finish line to the start. Because this is a point-to-point ride, we offer a $20 shuttle from Osceola to the starting line before the event only at 8 am.  Route: https://www.strava.com/routes/3184485344212456266

Our shorter but challenging route of 29 miles takes you through rolling hills, farms, and forests. This ride will start at noon from the Osceola Ski and Sport Resort, 573 Osceola Rd, Camden, NY 13316. It is an in-and-out route from Osceola to the village of West Leyden and back. One rest and aid station stop is provided in West Leyden. 

Participation is open to recreational and competitive amateur cyclists alike, and riders of all abilities can participate. 

E-bikes are welcome. 

The Tour de Lewis is cycling’s equivalent of running’s half marathon or 10k run. As with running events, rather than racing other participants, most participants challenge themselves in a personal battle against the course, the distance, and, ultimately, the clock. While some faster riders will choose to have this ride timed, most participants are happy to complete the challenge within the allotted time, enjoying the North Country scenery along the way.
