Treasured Chests Run Virtual 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run

The Treasured Chests Virtual 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run is a great way to stay fit and get a new t-shirt, all while practicing social distancing and giving back to a good cause to make a difference! Every entry gets you a custom t-shirt that you’ll love to wear with pride, an awesome finisher medal, along with raising funds to help bring 3D Mammography to Carroll County.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, which means almost everyone has been touched by the disease in some way. To ensure all women have diagnostics options, Carroll County Memorial Hospital has committed to adding 3D Mammography to the hospital’s full line of diagnostic services. Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation is dedicated to assisting with the purchase of the equipment while also raising awareness about the disease.  

Register for Treasured Chests Virtual 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run before October 11, 2020

Complete a 5K (3.1 miles) or 1 Mile (for kids under 12) at your convenience any time anywhere from October 24 – November 1, 2020.

What is a Virtual Race?
Virtual races are a wonderful way to stay connected with one another when you can't get together for an in-person race. A virtual race is one that you run or walk on your own, at any time of day. Virtual races allow you to complete the race on any course in any place you like— country road, park path, treadmill. You get to choose!

Who can participate?
Anyone! That’s the beauty of virtual races. Here or there, near or far – all are invited to be a part of this unique event to bring people together while staying apart and supporting a great community organization at the same time!

If you don’t run, then walk. If you really don’t even like to walk, take a stroll. Stop and check out the scenery. This event truly is for everyone to enjoy!

Things to remember:

1.      Please make sure that you are safe and following rules of the road.

2.      There won’t be event staff there to shut down intersections.

3.      Stop for cars and run or walk on sidewalks or the left-hand shoulder of the road.

4.      Stay visible at all times.

What Do I Get?
5K Participants will receive:

1.      A race day bib (wearing it is optional, but adds to the fun!)

2.      Treasured Chests Virtual 5K t-shirt

3.      Finisher's medal to celebrate your achievement

4.      The gratification of raising funds for the CCMH Foundation

How far do I walk/run?
5K = 3.1 miles

For kids under age 12, they are eligible to participate in the “1 Mile Fun Run.”

Important: Please follow all social distancing guidelines and maintain at least 6 feet between you and others. Additionally, if you are participating outside of Missouri, be sure to follow your own state and local restrictions about public spaces, trails, or running locations.

How long do I have to finish the race?
The Treasured Chests 5K race period will begin on Saturday, October 24th at12:00 AM and end Sunday, November 1st at 11:59pm. You can run and submit your race any time during this period. You must complete the distance you signed up for within the specified race period to qualify for ranking.

What do I do after I finish my race?
You will track your walk/run on your choice of tracking app. (Map my Walk, Map my Run, Run Tracker, Strava, RunKeeper, etc.) At the end of your course, you will save your info or screenshot and share that info to the Treasured Chests 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run Facebook event page. Hint: You have a whole week to complete your run, which means if you don’t love your initial time, you can try over and over.
