Veterans Memorial 5k - Muskogee

It's the 11th Anniverasy of the Annual Sadler Art's Academy Veterans Run!  We will be back at the Depot Green in in the Arts District of Muskogee on Nov 4th, 2023!  The event will have a 5k, Fun Run and a "Ruck" challenge, read below for more information about the Ruck + Run.   Between the three events (1 mile Fun Run Walk, 5k Run, and 5k Ruck + Run) we have something for everyone! This run will honor retired and active duty service men and women. 
This event is hosted by the Sadler Arts Academy 7th and 8th Grade with the help of City of Muskogee and the Muskogee Running Club.  Thank you for your interest in this event and supporting the Sadler Arts Academy. 
Event Details:
When: November 4th, 2023 at 8:00 am.  Registration & Packet Pick up will start at 6:30 am
Where: The New Depot Green at 3rd & Elgin in Muskogee
Events and Cost: 5k or 5k Ruck + Run is $30 for pre-registration or $35 for race day registration.  1 mile Fun Run/Walk is $20 or $25 on race day.

T-Shirts: T-shirts for all Pre-registered runners.  Shirts for race day signups are first come first serve 
Awards: Finishers medals to all finishers of the Fun Run, 5k Run, and 5k Ruck + Run.  We also have awards for the farthest traveled, largest ruck group, oldest veteran, and youngest current serving military.   
SO WHAT EXACTLY IS A RUCK AND WHAT IS THE RUCK + RUN CHALLENGE???? 
A ruck, or ruck sack, is military term for large backpack of gear that is used in training and on the battlefield.  The Ruck + Run Challenge requires men to wear a 45 lb minimum ruck and women to wear a 35 lb minimum ruck.  In addition to carrying the extra weight, participants will stop at some challenge stations along the 5k route.  Each participant must provide their own ruck. 
You can sign up as an individual or do this as a team.  You can create a team when registering and then share the team name with others who you would like to join your team.
