Whitehills 5K

  Welcome

The Fifth Annual Whitehills 5K Run/Walk Race will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019. The course is measured and chip-timed. There is also a free half-mile Kids Fun Run. Race proceeds will go toward needs identified by Whitehills Elementary School, which serves a diverse population. About one-third of Whitehills students received free and reduced lunch; race profits allow the Whitehills School Association to serve the needs of our student population. Come and enjoy the beautiful tree lined streets through the Whitehills neighborhood and enjoy refreshments after the race. All ages and abilities welcome! 

Construction Notice

In June 2019, the current Whitehills Elementary building will be demolished, clearing the way for a brand-new building to be constructed in 2019-20. During this transitional year, the Whitehills students and staff will move together to a different building. The race committee will be working closely with school and public officials to determine the safest course for our race participants, and will make course and other logistical information available as we have it. 

Course Notes Street 5K: This is a fast course with a couple of gentle hills, and is a great course for novice runners, younger participants, senior racers, and anyone in between! Strollers are welcome (will start in back of main group), but no dogs are allowed unless they are service animals. Entry Fees $20 (pre-registration) for ages 10 and up (includes shirt) through June 30 $25 (pre-registration) for ages 10 and up (includes shirt) July 1-August 21 $30 for ages 10 and up (shirt not guaranteed) August 22 through race day $15 (pre-registration) for ages 5-9 (includes shirt), add $5 race day FREE for 5K Run/Walk for 0-4 years with an adult (no need to register; no chipped bib given) FREE for Kids Fun Run (no need to register; no chipped bib given) Race Times 8:45am – Kids Fun Run Warmup (optional and free!) 9:00am – Kids Fun Run (about a half mile, no registration needed) 9:30am – 5K Run/Walk Packet Pick Up & Parking Packet pick up Friday, August 23 6:00-7:00pm and beginning at 8:00am on race day. Packet pick-up location TBD based on construction. Parking arrangements will be announced closer to the race. The school parking lot will not be available due to construction.  Awards Kids Fun Run - each participant receives a special prize; no registration is needed for this half mile run 5K Run/Walk - finisher medals, male and female overall, 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each age bracket Brackets: 8 and under, 9-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Top male and female winners will each receive an award. Top three male and female winners in each age division will receive a medal or other award. Special award categories will be announced closer to the race.
