Free To Run Foundation presents the annual New Year’s Day Race for Hope 5k in Troy, Ohio on January 1, 2020. Once again, this is a free, no frills fun run/walk taking place along the Great Miami River in Troy, Ohio. There will not be official timing or results published, so be sure to bring your watch if you want to track your time! We will provide water and snacks to the participants post-race. Donations will be accepted both during sign-up and at the race, to help defray the costs, and to support our charity partners. The start and finish will be at the Gazebo on the river levee bike path by Hobart Arena.
New this for 2020! During registration, you can choose to order one of the fair trade, organic cotton shirts from Freeset, which prior to the 2019 5k, we had offered to participants every race. The shirts are $15 (plus processing fee), and along with any donations received, proceeds from the shirts will go towards combatting human trafficking in the Greater Dayton area. Register by 11/30 if you’d like to get a shirt. We will have some extra shirts at the race available for purchase for $15.
Run Virtually Anywhere – Virtual Race
If you don’t reside in the Dayton area, or you would rather support the cause by running indoors or on your own schedule, you can select the Virtual 5k option. You can choose to do your own virtual 5k anytime during the month of January, which is National Slavery Prevention and Human Trafficking Awareness month.
