Last year’s Marathon des Alpes Maritimes Nice-Cannes runner-up Barnabas Kiptum (2:10:43) took the top spot in this year’s race, despite finishing 15 seconds slower than in 2014.
More than 6,600 runners completed the seaside run from Nice to Cannes, which began in 2008 and has quickly become France’s second largest marathon.
Victor Kipchirchir (2:12:23) came in less than a minute ahead of Michael Chege (2:12:57) for second.
For the women, it was Rose Chepchumba (2:36:02) coming in comfortably ahead of the field to defend her title.
Haji Halima earned runner-up honors with a time of 2:46:22.
Diane Wolf (2:53:21) finished a distance third.
