Half Marathon results
Ryan Rau (1:13:52) cut just over 30 seconds from his winning time a year ago to defend his title in the Great Turtle Trail Run.
Roughly 1,100 runners completed the shoreline loop around Lake Huron’s Mickinac Island, located between Michigan’s bottom and top peninsulas.
In a tight race for second Hank Risley (1:20:21) was able to hold off Nathan Garrett (1:20:47).
For the women, it was Laura Portis (1:21:16) coming in comfortably ahead of the field for first.
Amy Kohlmeier secured second with a time of 1:32:54.
Last year’s runner-up Tasha O’Malley (1:36:34) took third
