Last year’s runner-up Daniel Salel (1:00:56) cut close to a minute from his 2014 time to win this year’s running of the Boston Half Marathon in Massachusetts.
Close to 6,400 runners completed the Emerald Necklace park system course which ends in Franklin Park, one of the oldest parks in the U.S.
Stephen Sambu secured second with a time of 1:01:18.
He finished fourth a year ago.
Eliud Ngetich rounded out the top three at 1:02:40.

For the women, it was Mary Wacera (1:10:21) coming in a second ahead of Cynthia Limo (1:10:22) for first.
Limo repeated in second.
Both finished with times in the overall top 10, at No. 9 and No. 10 respectively.
In a similarly tight race for third, Belaynesh O. Oljira (1:10:41) finished just a few steps ahead of Caroline Rotich (1:10:45).
