Sixteen-year-old Charles Berg bested nearly 3,000 runners to win the Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon in Portland, Maine with a time of 1:14:35.
Founded in 2011, the waterfront run includes views of the Casco Bay, Presumpscot River and Back Cove.
Michael Creedon came in second, crossing the finish line in 1:16:31.
Richard Williams (1:17:10) finished four seconds ahead of James Boeding for third.
In the women’s race, Amanda Nurse had no trouble notching the win with a time of 1:21:57.
Emily D’addario did enough to earn second, finishing in 1:25:14.
Tina Husted rounded out the top three coming in at 1:26:38.
