About the event

For the 10th anniversary of La Ultra - The High, a 333 Km, 72-hour endurance race across the beautiful yet brutal Ladakh region of India, part of the Great Himalayan mountain range, participants must traverse three 17,500+ ft. high mountain passes. This is an extreme test of physical and mental strength, as temperatures can fluctuate from 40 degrees Celsius to -12 degrees Celsius in a matter of hours, while oxygen levels are only 50% of sea-level. In the past seven years, 24 countries have sent 76 runners, of which 41 have finished. The race also features a team relay format, in which a team of three can cover the 111 Km distance in 20 hours, comprising six stages with two stages per runner. To mark the 10th anniversary, a 55 Km special has been added as well, which will take place on 19th August at 8:00 AM, with a time limit of 11 hours and a registration fee of Rs. 8,000 plus 5% GST. To qualify, participants must have completed a marathon between January and May of 2019.
