The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, and Constantly Boring 8K will take place on September 22, 2019. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon. Parking will be at Boring Middle School and surrounding neighborhood. Please use SE Wally Rd and SE School Ave to reach parking after 6:15 am, as runners will be crossing SE Dee St. The three races are all on the Springwater Trail, out and back, with the marathon having a few side detours to take in some local neighborhoods. The marathon mainly follows the Springwater Trail into Gresham and then continues onto a portion of the Gresham-Fairview Trail to Division Street before returning to the Springwater Trail, heading further west for a few more miles, then turning and heading home to Boring following the same route. The Half Boring Half is an out-and-back on the Springwater Trail. The same goes for the Contantly Boring 8K, which never really leaves the Boring area, so truly is constantly Boring. All races support the cross country and track teams at Barlow H.S. and West Orient Middle School and all proceeds go directly to these programs.
Limit – Marathon is limited to 130, Half to 220, and the 8K to 150 due to medal numbers.
Packet pick-up – Friday, Sept. 20th, from 4-7:30 pm, and Saturday, Sept. 21st, from 12-5 pm at Boring Brewing. Here, you can enjoy a discounted beer in your race pint glass after getting your packet! Boring Brewing is located at 29300 SE Haley Rd., Boring, OR, and minors are allowed. Sunday’s packet pickup will be at the race’s start and finish, Boring Station Trailhead Park (28008 SE Dee St., Boring, OR), beginning at 5:30 am.
Time limit – Walkers are welcome, but because we run part of the race along roads, we need to discontinue aid stations and traffic control after 6 hours. However, we will stay until the last runner/walker comes in and nobody will be disqualified by time. Early starts will be allowed – but are not required – for marathoners who expect to take longer than 6 hours.
Boring Sister City of Dull, Scotland – any resident of Dull, Scotland gets free registration (but you pay the travel)
Awards – All entries prior to August 22 are guaranteed to receive a shirt in their first size choice. After that time, shirts in your first size choice may not be available. To help guide a second choice, men’s shirts tend to run a little large and women’s tend to run a little small. Medals will be awarded to finishers in all three races. Awards to top places (male and female) in each age group for all races.
Refunds and deferrals - Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or deferrals once you have registered.
Changing races – If you signed up for a race and wish to change to a different race, please contact the race director before September 1 at [email protected].
