About the event
The week before the seventh annual Brownville Freedom Run, the Steamboat Trace Trail had been worked on by the Nemaha Resource District, the State of Nebraska entity that oversees the maintenence of the trail the Run uses. Re-rocking, grading, bridge repair, weed cutting and general upkeep was done by a small group of workers in the 100+ degree heat just so the Freedom Runners would be safe and comfortable. Then the night before the 4th of July the area had and inch and a half of rain dumped on the Trace.
