We are first and foremost hosting this fun run to raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues. Many people live in shame, fear, and silence due to the stigma surrounding mental health, which prevents people from reaching out and seeking help and treatment. In addition to making updates to our current center, we would like to be able to expand and open another location. We have an amazing training program, but unfortunately we do not have the space needed to keep as many therapists on staff as we would like. We also would like to be able to start group therapies, but again lack the space and resources to be able to do so. Finally, we want to be able to continue to provide services for our students on campus at an affordable price, and be able to work with people in the community who may not have the funds or insurance to be able to cover mental health treatment. With your help, we can continue to provide these services, expand our center, and ultimately help more people who are in need of support. Join us on our journey to keep the conversation going, normalize the struggles people are facing, and let people know that they are not alone!
The race will be held come rain or shine. No refunds.
Packet pickup will be located at the Webster Commons Building on the campus of Southern Nazarene University, Friday March 1st. Packet pickup times will be from 12 to 2pm and 4 to 6pm on Friday. Participants who cannot get their packets on Friday can get their packets the morning of the run starting at 8am.
