Get up for D’s Tushie 5k Run/Walk

Hello. We are a group of friends who are trying to get a 5k run/walk together in honor of a very special friend of ours who had courageously fought the hardest fight of her life. Colon Cancer. We, in hopes of doing this, would also love to start a new yearly tradition to keep her spirit of the fight going. Because that is exactly the type of woman she was: Full of Fight and Spirit. Even though she was weary from the battle, she did not just sit still and let it define her. She fought every day to do the things she would normally enjoy do; Spend time with her family and friends. To do this run/walk, would keep her fight and spirit going.

We are asking you to join us with our run/walk, in any way you can, on the date of April 25, 2020, at the Municipal in Smyrna DE. With this run/walk, we are hoping to, not only raise money to help others with their fight with Colon Cancer, but to also raise awareness on how important these screenings are. The sooner you are diagnosed, the greater your chance for survival is.

We have fun Activities, Vendors, Music, Food Trucks,Silent Auction, Raffles, 50/50 

Race by Schedule:
8:00am to 9am -- Registration 
8:30 am -- Vendor arrival 
9:00 am -- Run/Walk begins
10:15 am -- Award Ceremony begins 
10:30 am -- 4:00pm -- Post-race activities at Municipal Park

When: Saturday , April 25, 2020 8am Rain or shine. 
Where: Municipal Park 325 N Main street  Smyrna. DE 19977
Registration: $25 until April 20th, $30 after and on event day. Registration starts at 8am. Make Checks payable to Smyrna/Clayton Moose Lodge. Contact Bernadette at(302) 547-4523 or email [email protected]. 

Team: a team must consist of 5 or more members. Only the top 5 from each team can score. Each register must register under the same team name.each team member will be eligible for individual awards.  Awards will be presented to the top three teams. 

Awards: Awards to overall male/female and master winners. Too  3 male/female runners 
5K walk awards to top 5 male/female finishers. 

Amenities : quality “Getup for D’s Tushie 5k “Run/walk shirts to all participants. 

Benefits:  We are starting this event that we hope will become a new tradition to occur every year in the month of April. We also, not only doing this to raise money, but to help raise awareness of Colon Cancer. All proceeds will go to Colorectal Cancer Alliance to help raise awareness on how important these screenings are. The sooner you are diagnosed, the greater your chance for survival is.Help spread the word about getting screened.
