Paws for Peace 5k: Running for Courage - FL

Can you imagine leaving your beloved pet behind with someone who might hurt or even kill them? Neither can we.
That’s why Harbor House of Central Florida opened the Paws for Peace Kennel in response to a national
survey that showed that more than 65% of domestic violence victims delayed leaving their abuser out of fear for the safety of their pets.
12 years later, the kennel remains a critically important fixture on our emergency campus as most pet
owning survivors continue to report that their abuser has been violent toward or sometimes even killed their beloved pet.
The generous support provided during the annual Paws for Peace Walk has allowed pets and their people to find safety and remain united while in sanctuary at Harbor House of Central Florida
